🤖 How I Use LLMs in Growth Day-to-Day

Growth is a relatively new field that is constantly evolving, especially now that we have Large Language Models (LLMs).

As you may know, LLMs are powerful AI tools that can read and generate human language by learning from huge amounts of text. They can answer questions, write text, and hold conversations by predicting the next word in a sentence.

To stay ahead and maximize output, leveraging LLMs has become essential.

As a Head of Lifecycle Marketing at Leap AI, leveraging the power of LLMs has become an indispensable part of my day-to-day.

Here are four key ways I use LLMs to enhance my growth efforts:

1: Learning New Skills

One of the most valuable aspects of LLMs is their ability to help me quickly learn new skills.

For instance, I needed to learn how to export custom Figma emails in HTML to upload them to Customer.io, so I immediately turned to ChatGPT 4o.

By asking specific questions, I got detailed, step-by-step instructions that walked me through the entire process.

Example:

  • Query: "Teach me how to export custom HTML Figma emails and create those as templates in customer.io. Give me step-by-step instructions."

2: Brainstorming Ideas

If I'm brainstorming a new activation drip journey, content ideas, or how to improve email marketing performance, LLMs are a great resource.

Example:

  • Query: "Help me brainstorm ideas on creating a multi-touch (5-6 touches) activation drip for new signups, which came specifically for Leap's Image Generation tool. What would you include in touches 1 through 6?"

3: Writing Copy

The hardest part is going from 0 to 1, from no email to your first suboptimal draft.

LLMs simplify the email writing process, from creating initial templates to personalizing messages for various audience segments.

However, 'Garbage in, garbage out' is always a rule.

Make sure to:

  • Explain in detail what you need, including the style, tone, and medium.

  • Make an outline for your future email to list the specific points you want to hit.

  • Keep talking to LLMs to perfect your copy. It usually takes a few tries (3-5) to get things right.

Example:

  • Query: "I'm drafting a welcome email to users who signed up and generated images with Leap's Image Generation tool. Check in and suggest some tips on getting the best results out of the model.

    Here is a rough outline:

    - Welcome

    - Acknowledge they generated cool images already

    - Ask if they're happy with the results

    - If they are not happy, suggest tips on how to get the best output from the models."

These are the results after talking to ChatGPT 4o and rewriting some parts myself:

4: Creating/Improving Content

Content creation is the heart of growth marketing, whether it's blogs, social media, ads, or emails.

AI helps me generate new content ideas or rephrase existing content to suit different platforms or audiences better.

Example:

  • Query: "Teach me how to craft effective prompts so I can generate high-quality images from the text-to-image models. Give the steps of crafting a prompt, for example: "1. Start with a basic description, 2. Add details.”

I needed this content for one of the emails, and here is the result:

Wrap

Harnessing the power of LLMs has significantly transformed my approach to growth marketing.

From learning new skills, and brainstorming ideas, to generating content, LLMs have become indispensable for growth.

The ability to streamline these processes not only enhances individual productivity but also ensures that we stay agile and responsive in a quickly changing world of AI.

As AI continues to evolve, the potential for even greater innovation is immense, and embracing these tools will be key to staying ahead of the curve.
